Built-in, not bolted on
Extension and sustainability is a core part of every decision we make. It is embedded in our operations, not added as an afterthought.
13 active projects across soil preparation, irrigation, pest control, and harvesting. We lead with science and absorb the risks so farmers can adopt new practices with confidence.
Extension and sustainability is a core part of every decision we make. It is embedded in our operations, not added as an afterthought.
We set new benchmarks by generating scientific evidence that redefines agriculture extension and sustainability practices.
We absorb the risks of new practices so farmers can adopt innovations with confidence and see the benefits firsthand.
Our Direct Seeded Rice pilot provides hands-on farmer training for correct adoption. DSR reduces labor dependence and uses 30-40% less water compared to traditional transplanting. In partnership with ICAR-IARI (Pusa), we are advancing improved basmati DSR varieties. Early results point to lower resource use and a pathway to scalable, water-efficient production.

We are implementing Alternate Wetting and Drying practices across 12,000+ acres with satellite monitoring from CarbonFarm and IoT devices. From a single plot to entire regions, our systems ensure adoption and measurement at scale. Real-time data and automated advisories reduce guesswork for farmers. Time and GPS stamped, plot-level records create verifiable metrics for water saved and emissions avoided. Satellite plus IoT: real, verifiable sustainability at scale.

While the industry relies on averages and models for water and energy footprints, our approach captures actual field-level data. Our water and electricity meters enable field-practice level comparisons across normal irrigation, AWD, and IoT-AWD methods. We collaborate with scientists to validate and certify savings. Not just growing rice. Generating the data to redefine rice's water footprint, field by field and season by season.

We provide free drone spraying services for the first spray across farmer fields. Drone sprays use approximately 8 liters per acre compared to 200 liters for manual spraying, a 95% reduction in water use. We cut water use by 95% while protecting farmers and soil: there is zero direct chemical handling, precision dosing reduces runoff, and we invest in the drones so farmers benefit at no cost.

Our soil testing services provide lab analysis of nutrient profile, pH, and soil health for each plot. Tailored recommendations for each field reduce chemical overuse and runoff. The result: healthier soils, stronger crops, consistent yields, and reduced input costs for farmers. Precision soil testing also supports residue compliance for export markets.

We developed a basmati-specific custom harvester with New Holland to protect grain quality during harvest. We also built a field-level straw collection system to remove biomass directly from farms. Harvest efficiently, protect quality, eliminate burning: this prevents open-field straw burning, reduces air pollution and emissions, and converts waste into biofuels, biochar, and additional farmer income.

In partnership with Jain Irrigation, we developed a specialized sprinkler system tailored for paddy, overcoming height limitations in conventional designs. Sprinklers are preferable over drip irrigation for rice, which faces clogging issues. Government subsidy is available, and we cover remaining costs to support farmer adoption. We are currently piloting with four farmers to evaluate performance before scaling.
